We are over the moon to be able to bring home Lot 246, the Pierro - Mistress Oz Filly from the Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale. She is the first foal from the unraced Mistress Oz, herself a daughter of Champion NZ mare Princess Coup, who we all remember as a star of the turf during her racing days. Mistress Oz is also a half sister to the very talented Argentia, a current stakes winner for the Freedman team in Melbourne.

Pierro has been one of the best stallions at stud here in Australia, since his retirement from racing in 2013. A Champion at 2 & 3 years old and he has thrown his versatility to his progeny at stud. Like all the great stallions, his progeny can sprint and stay, can be precocious yet improve as they get older. There is no doubt Pierro passes on his toughness and will to win to his sons and daughters, and that's why we are so pleased to get this filly into our stable.

Pierro's stock have been sought after this week and with sixteen sold at this Easter Sale, his average price is well in excess of $300,000. Without a doubt, we have secured a bargain and have the added bonus that this filly is Super Vobis qualified and can race for Millions of dollars available here in Victoria. Being out of a Snitzel mare, this filly has plenty of strength about her and physically she looks like a late 2yo type. The Pierro / Snitzel cross is a nice mix of speed and stamina, and over 75% of stakes winners by Pierro are out of Danehill line mares, like this one.
